Near Fine in hardcover. 29 by 47 cm. Very unusual item. This is a self-published volume that contains 12 linocut prints, presented two per page in various color matte boards. The linocuts included are: (1) The Lake before Mount Rundle; (2) A Look Through Young Poplar about Sylvan Lake; (3) Near the tourist Mecca of Banff; (4) Kananaskis Country with Towering Black Firs; (5) Grotesque Hoodoos Near Drumheller; (6) Layering and Statuesque Hoodoos at East Coulee; (7) Open Range Horses west of Cochrane; (8) Elk, the Nuisance to Foothills Farmers; (9) A Combine and Stake Truck; (10) Dinkey Pump as seen near Didsbury; (11) A Line-up of Grain Elevators at Claresholm; and (12) The Massive Calgary Tower. It is been hand bound with a plastic locking mechanism for the spine. Marbled endpapers inside covers. The book title has been pasted on front cover. This is a one of a kind hand-made item. Bright, clean.

Very Good ++ in hardcover. 29 by 44 cm. Very unusual item. This is a self-published volume that was submitted to York University as an assignment for a Pioneer Experience class. It contains a 26 page essay complete with original corrections by grading professor. The most unique part of this book is that it contains six large fold-out maps depicting various components of life in the Vaughn and King (Ontario) townships circa 1851. The maps measure 33 by 22 inches each. The map details are: (1)Plate VI - Vaughn Township - this map shows the breakdown of land parcels with the names of the owner noted. Common names include Jeffrey, McMullin, Baker, and many more. (2) Plate V2 - Vaughn Township Land Distribution by Surveys. This map shows wild land, crops, cultivated land and pasture in acres. (3) Plate V3 - Vaughn Township Livestock Count by Surveys. This map shows the distribution of oxen, horses, milch cows, sheep, and pigs. This map has a closed tear along one edge. (4) Plate K1 - King Township - this map shows the breakdown of land parcels with the names of the owner noted. Common names include McDonald, Drummond, Brown, Smith, and many more. (5) Plate K2 - King Township (South Part) Land Distribution by Surveys. This map shows wild land, crops, cultivated land and pasture in acres. (6) Plate K3 - King Township (South Part) Livestock Count by Surveys. This map shows the distribution of oxen, horses, milch cows, sheep, and pigs. The book has a black cover with gold printed lettering on front. It is been hand bound with a plastic locking mechanism for the spine. There is an imprint of three letters visible on the front cover. A most unusual one of a kind item. Especially interesting to families of those who homesteaded in these areas during this time. Bright, clean.
